Godfather for the Wii

I spent a few evenings recently playing Godfather for the Wii. Godfather is both amazingly fun and shamefully violent. First, let’s examine why Godfather is such a fun Wii game.

Godfather for the Wii is extremely fun!

Godfather reminds me of Grand Theft Auto. You run around, drive cars, complete missions, and interact with people. But imagine doing all that with a highly interactive Wii controller. In Godfather, you fight like you would in a Wii boxing game. Even better, Godfather offers a number of punching moves, choking, and more.

I couldn’t sit down while playing Godfather because I had to move so much. The next day, my shoulders, arms, and back was sore from all the fighting I did. When was the last time you got sore after a workout from playing a video game?

Of course, Godfather also allows you to run and shoot using the Wii’s interactive controls. Just point your Wii Remote to aim the crosshairs on the person you want to shoot. Use the Wii Nunchuk Controller to run and move.

The Nintendo Wii’s controllers take first-person shooters to a whole new level. You feel like you are in the game because you must actually aim your gun, punch with your fist, or shake your hands to choke someone. (more…)

Is Wiis’Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’ a Better Game for Kids than Teens?

Audiences agree that the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Wii has incredible graphics, a fantastic story, and cool effects. However, children may enjoy it more than teens, especially older teens. If you are considering buying Twilight Princess for your child or teen, these considerations may interest you.

Buying Wii’s “Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” for Children

The reason that children may enjoy Twilight Princess is based on the fact that Twilight Princess is focused on solving many short puzzles rather than fighting. In this sense, the game seems more like the old PC game Myst, than the original Legend of Zelda in the 1980s. This puzzle solving is great for kids. It also stands in contrast to the violence of many current video games.

Buying Wii’s “Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” for Teens

However, many teens will dislike Twilight Princess for exactly this reason. The game lacks the fighting that teens enjoy with many games. Twilight Princess also lacks multiplayer mode, so kids can’t play together. That is another problem, since teens often enjoy the interaction of multiplayer games with their friends.

Zelda’s Game Puzzles

What kinds of puzzles are in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess? Here is an example.

Early in the game, players must get a sling shot. The sling shot is for sale at a store, but the shop keeper is so worried about her lost cat, that she won’t sell anything until the cat is found. To catch the cat, players must figure out that they must first catch a fish to lure the cat. To catch a fish, players must get a fishing pole. But how can they get a fishing pole? The lady with the fishing pole needs a favor, find her lost basket, then she will give away her fishing pole. A monkey has the basket, but players must figure out how to get the basket from the monkey.

As you can see, the game has hundreds or thousands of small logical puzzles. The game gives players an opportunity to solve puzzles based on things the player has seen in this virtual world.

Sometimes the puzzles are easy. But sometimes the puzzles are hard. Even adults will find the puzzles challenging. Players stuck on a puzzle can always seek help online with the many game cheat web pages that instruct players to beat the game.

Conclusion: Buy Zelda Game for Kids, Maybe Teens

In conclusion, if you are looking for a Wii game that emerses the player into a fantastic world with puzzles to solve, the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is perfect. If you want to buy a Wii game with fighting or multiplayer interaction, Twilight Princess may not be the game for you.
