I spent a few evenings recently playing Godfather for the Wii. Godfather is both amazingly fun and shamefully violent. First, let’s examine why Godfather is such a fun Wii game.
Godfather for the Wii is extremely fun!
Godfather reminds me of Grand Theft Auto. You run around, drive cars, complete missions, and interact with people. But imagine doing all that with a highly interactive Wii controller. In Godfather, you fight like you would in a Wii boxing game. Even better, Godfather offers a number of punching moves, choking, and more.
I couldn’t sit down while playing Godfather because I had to move so much. The next day, my shoulders, arms, and back was sore from all the fighting I did. When was the last time you got sore after a workout from playing a video game?
Of course, Godfather also allows you to run and shoot using the Wii’s interactive controls. Just point your Wii Remote to aim the crosshairs on the person you want to shoot. Use the Wii Nunchuk Controller to run and move.
The Nintendo Wii’s controllers take first-person shooters to a whole new level. You feel like you are in the game because you must actually aim your gun, punch with your fist, or shake your hands to choke someone. (more…)

Best Wii Games for Christmas
The games you should buy for your child depends your child’s age and interests. Obviously, not every child will like the same games. The list below will help you figure out which games your child would like. These games include the best in a cross section of Wii game genres.
Metroid Prime 3
Metroid Prime 3 was released for the Nintendo Wii on August 28, 2007. It is a new game and enjoyed by kids of all ages, boys and girls. It’s a shooting game, but not very violent if you consider shooting robots and space aliens okay. (Buy it here or here.) Here is an example:

Resident Evil 4 is an incredible game, but it is not for the squeamish or young. This game take you into a strange fantasy universe with horror around every corner. If you like the excitement of blasting ghoulish creatures before they eat you, you will love Resident Evil 4. Super Paper Mario may look like the original Super Mario Bros, but just wait, because there is so much more. Super Paper Mario allows players to turn their view so instead of moving side-to-side, players are in a 3D world. Despite the ability to have more interactive violence in Wii games, the Wii is fast becoming the best gaming system for families and groups of people. Why? Wii games involve teamwork, interactive play, and physical movement never before experienced in video games.
Exercise. Wii games are breaking the video game mold. No longer are kids sitting on the couch pressing their thumbs on a controller. Now, kids are standing up, moving around, swinging the Wii controller. The Wii’s physical interaction makes it more fun, and the health benefits of the movements are better than laying on the couch.
The Whole Family. For years, video game controllers have been adding more buttons, making the controller more complex for new users and adults. But the Wii changed this! Now, adults and other uncommon video game players can swing the Wii Remote like a golf club, a tennis racket, or a baseball bat. In short, the Wii Remote made the game controllers more realistic and more simple at the same time—something kids and adults love.

This game makes full use of the Wii controllers, so it is not simply an old game rehashed. In fact, it isn’t even a game—it’s a collection of mini-games.
Fun, Clean Games. The games include sports, contests, and a variety of fun, action-packed, challenges for the entire family. Rayman Raving Rabbids is rated “E” for Everyone.
Fun Alone or with Groups. The game is sure to keep people entertained for hours. Rayman Raving Rabbids is a great game for groups of friends (or siblings). The mini-games are easy to quickly learn.
What it’s Not. If you are looking for game that has one long game with a deep story line (like Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess), this game isn’t for you. But if you are looking for some great games you can just pick up and play, Rayman Raving Rabbids is perfect for you.

Unfortunately, many games released for the Wii game system do not make full use of the Wii Remote Controller or Wii Nunchuk Controller. That is, many games require a Wii game system owner to hold the Wiimote in both hands like the old video game systems, and moving the controller doesn’t do anything in the game. This is unfortunate because the Wii’s Remote and Nunchuk have the ability to sense movement, which is what makes the Wii game system so cool.
The reason many Wii games do not utilize the movement features of the Wii’s Remote or Nunchuk is probably because game programmers merely converted the games from old video game systems to the Wii. As time passes, Wii game programmers will start producing Wii games that fully utilize the movement features of Wii’s game controllers. Until that time, we must rely on the few Wii games that were created with the Wiimote and Nunchuk in mind.
Here are the best Wii games that make full use of the Wii’s controllers:
Rayman Raving Rabbids. A fun set of mini-games that makes great use of the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Fun for groups of people. Some of complained that this game gets old quickly (for those who play it alone) because it is too easy to beat.
Call Of Duty 3. Call of Duty 3 has great use of the Wiimote and Nunchuck—much better than Red Steel or Far Cry. For example, you can steer your jeep by holding the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Unfortunately, Call of Duty 3 does not have multiplayer.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This game is amazing. Of course, some players may not like it, but most players enjoy it and are amazed at its awesome effects.
